Here are the options available to you when your Nissan lease expires.
Rent or buy a new Nissan vehicle
Thanks to the Nissan Canada Finance Loyalty Program, this option is particularly beneficial. This program aims to ease the transition to your next Nissan vehicle. Since you are a loyal customer, we want to give you more! To qualify for the Nissan Canada Finance Loyalty Program, you must currently lease or finance a Nissan vehicle through Nissan Canada Finance, or own a 2009 Nissan vehicle or newer. Members of your immediate family residing at the same address and holding a valid driver’s license are also eligible.
Buy your current rental vehicle
You know your vehicle, making it the best used vehicle for you. If you choose to keep it, you avoid potential excess kilometer and any wear and tear costs. You will have nothing else to spend than the residual value, which is the predetermined purchase price as defined in your lease agreement, and the incidental costs, if any. Note that the residual value is not negotiable. If you need a loan to purchase your vehicle, Nissan Canada Finance will be able to offer you financing upon approval of your credit. Consult HGregoire Nissan St-Eustache for more information. We will also assist you in registering your vehicle.
Return your vehicle
If you simply want to return your Nissan vehicle, HGregoire Nissan St-Eustache will make sure that the transition is as easy as possible for you! No matter if you rent your vehicle here or at another Nissan establishment. Read the « How to proceed » section for more details.
Would you like to return or purchase your vehicle before the expiry date of your lease agreement?

Do you wish to extend the rental of your vehicle past the due date?

The refund of your security deposit will be made 15 business days from any of these dates:
• Acknowledgement of the return of your vehicle;
• Receipt of certified funds for the purchase of your vehicle.
HOW TO PROCEED
It can be comforting to know in advance the steps of the lease return process; this way you will be well equipped to hand over your vehicle.
Reception of the wear and tear guidebook
Approximately six months before the end of your term, you will receive a copy of the wear and tear guidebook, in which you will find normal and excessive wear and tear standards as determined by Nissan Canada Finance.Checking your vehicle
In the wear and tear guidebook, you will also have access to a check-up tool that will allow you to assess the condition of your vehicle. If necessary, you can also make an appointment with your dealership, which will help you to correct any potential problem before handing over the vehicle.Receipt of the notice by mail
You will receive a letter 30 days before the expiry of your lease; it will inform you of the options and the special offers to which you are entitled in case you would like to purchase or lease a new Nissan vehicle.
Scheduling an appointment
Following receipt of the notice, you must contact HGregoire Nissan St-Eustache at (450) 472-8664 to schedule an appointment to return your vehicle. Make sure you do it before the expiry of your lease agreement.
Grounding of the vehicle
On the day of your appointment, HGregoire Nissan St-Eustache will ground your vehicle in your presence. It will be registered online through the internal website. We call this approach « grounding the vehicle ». A grounding receipt, acknowledging the vehicle return date, will be issued and must be signed by you and your advisor. It will then be sent electronically to Nissan Canada Finance for their records.
Inspection
AutoVin, an independent company and inspection service provider, will perform an electronic inspection of your vehicle within 48 hours of delivery. Nissan Canada Finance will verify the results with predefined parameters of wear and tear deterioration. You will be contacted directly if you have to pay additional fees. EXPECTED FEES
Is there a fee to pay when you return your Nissan vehicle? It's possible. Here are some situations in which you may have to pay a charge at the end of your lease.
Last payment
Your last payment is due 30 days before the expiry of your lease. If you have changed the payment date, please contact Nissan Canada Finances customer service department at 1-800-268-6499 to confirm.
Wear and tear costs
Depending on the results of the inspection report related to pre-defined wear & tear parameters, you may be charged for excessive wear on your vehicle. To avoid these costs, be sure to read the wear and tear guidebook that will be delivered to you by mail six months before the expiry date of your lease. You will then have the opportunity to make your own check and schedule an appointment with HGregoire Nissan St-Eustache, if necessary. This way, we will be able to assists you and correct any problem before the grounding of your vehicle and its inspection by AutoVin.
Kilometer charges
A maximum number of kilometers have been allowed for the rental period of your vehicle. If you have exceeded this number, you will have to pay excess kilometer charges. The terms and conditions are included in your lease agreement. Note that additional kilometers cannot be purchased during the lease because the contract cannot be modified.
Amount due at the end of the lease
If you received a lease-end liability statement, contact Nissan Canada Finances customer service department at 1-800-268-6409.
Incidental expenses
If you choose to buy your rental vehicle, incidental charges may be required; for example, sales tax, checking of safety devices and exhaust gases, vehicle registration fees, etc.
Penalties
If you wish to return your vehicle or buy it before the end of your lease, a penalty is to be expected.
